TRANSESTERIFICATION PROCESS USING MIXED SALT ACETYLACETONATES CATALYSTS
WO/2011/157645
The present invention describes mild and selective transesterification catalysts which consists of iron or zinc acetylacetonate in combination with a judiciously selected salt. These catalysts are an alternative for Zr(acac)4 (described in over 20 catalyst patents) showing similar selectivity and kinetic profiles as the Zr counterpart, but having the additional advantage of being less expensive, more stable and easily removable.
ZWITTERIONIC COMPOUNDS USEFUL AS CATALYSTS FOR ESTERIFICATION REACTIONS AND PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION
WO/2012/168458
The present invention describes zwitterionic compounds useful as esterification catalysts. The zwitterionic catalysts are aniline or quinoline-based sulfonic acid compounds. The invention is a solution for esterification reactions that are compromised by catalyst removal issues or substantial side product formation.
METHOD TO MODIFY CARBOHYDRATES
WO/2013/030264
The present invention describes a sustainable dialdehyde starch production process with subsequent regeneration of the organoiodine oxidant under mild conditions, without salt formation. Bis(acetoxy)iodobenzene, is a selective oxidant which has the benefit of being easily recyclable.
BIOPARAFFIN/BIOOLEFIN PRODUCTION PROCESS
The present invention gives access to valuable long-chain paraffins or olefins from a biomass feedstock. The reaction occurs under the influence of an alternative energy source and in the absence of reagents, hence operating conditions are superior to currently known processes.
